Klaang (Tom ‘Tiny’ Lister Jr) - A Klingon courrier carrying crucial information back to Qo'noS. Klaang was sent by the Klingon High Council to Rigel X to meet with Sarin regarding efforts by the Suliban to incite a Klingon civil war. She encoded his DNA with vital information on Suliban activities. On the return trip, Klaang's shuttlecraft crashed on Earth. While he manages to kill the Suliban agents pursuing him, he is shot by the farmer who’s land he crashed on and is taken to Starfleet. This was the first contact between Klingons and humans. Enterprise was sent to return Klaang to Qo'noS, but he was kidnapped by more Suliban and interrogated. Enterprise successfully rescued Klaang and brought him to Qo'noS, where the information he carried averted the potential war. (Broken Bow)
Klingons - Intelligent humaniod warrior species native to Qo'noS. Klingon bodies incorporates multiple redundancies for nearly all vital bodily functions. This characteristic, known as brak'lul, gives Klingon warriors enormous resiliency in battle. They have redundant neural functions that take over the job of the autonomic system if damaged. First contact between the Klingons and humans occurred in 2151 when Klaang crashed on Earth. Klingons are a proud, tradition-bound people who dream of dying in battle and find honor in such a death.
