The music was original and enjoyable and the sound effects were appropriately creepy. The screeching of the creature was a bit irritating but fit the scene nonetheless. The ship is still a bit colorless and there is still too much grey somehow but it worked well here. I also liked how they explained in a simple one-liner why the creature had cocooned the crew the way it did.
All in all, a good, solid, very entertaining hour! Roxann Dawson (Voyager's B'Elanna) does a great job directing here. And engineers Rostov (Joseph Will) and Kelly (Renee Goldberry) are two new additions to the crew that I hope we get to see again. I haven't felt this good about the show since "Shuttlepod One", another good episode.
I give this one a B+. The plus for the cool alien creature and more.
