"submarine" look and feel of the sets in this episode making the ship appear more primitive than the ones we've been used to and this is as it should be for this time period.
One thing I found interesting and a bit odd was T'Pol's conversation with Archer about the Vulcan ship that had encountered a similar storm in the past. Her version of events differed from what actually happened and it makes me wonder why she would have "forgotten" or "mistaken" this event.
In the continuity department which I love, there was mention of Solkar. He was Spock's great-grandfather. V'Lar from "Fallen Hero" was mentioned as well. In addition, we see that Trip still doesn't particularly like to be in charge of anything but his engines and gets annoyed easily. All good stuff.
I give this one a B+. The + for the f/x and the direction.
