Enrique Iglesias, originally named Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler, was born on 8 May, 1975 in Madrid, Spain. His father, Julio Iglesias was a famous Spanish singer and mother Isabel Preysler was a famous Madrid Socialite.

After the kidnap of his grandfather, he was sent to live with his father in Miami due to security reasons. As his father was mostly on musical tours, it was Elvira Olivares, Iglesias’s nanny who raised him into an adult and he spent most of his time with her. His first album was dedicated to Elvira.

He went to the reputed Gulliver Private School in Miami. As he grew older into a teenager, Iglesias started walking on his father’s footprints. He gave his first live performance in school at a production of Hello, Dolly!
