Baccarat has retained its position as one of the most popular casino games in both land-based casinos and online for decades, and the card game has been given an exciting technological shot-in-the-arm by the advent of Bitcoin casinos. Continue reading this article, to will learn more about what is Satoshi Baccarat.
Today, there are many versions of Bitcoin baccarat for players to enjoy, and these differ not only in style and in their unique rules but also in the amount of mBTC you can wager per hand.
At Bitcasino, we have games suited to high rollers, standard players, and those on a tighter budget, but still want to feel the thrill of the game, and Satoshi Baccarat in particular ticks the box for that latter group.
With a minimum bet of just 0.05 mBTC and a maximum of 50 mBTC, all players can enjoy Satoshi Baccarat without worrying too much about their wallets emptying in the blink of an eye.
Here’s our quick guide to the game and what players can expect.
The rules of Satoshi Baccarat
In truth, the rules of Satoshi Baccarat are no different to those you will find in traditional forms of the game. The difference is that the game has been designed specifically with Bitcoin players in mind.
As usual, the objective is to get as close to nine points as possible with your two-card hand without exceeding it. Each card has its own numerical value, with aces valued as one and picture cards (king, queen and jack) valued as ten.
If you have a picture card or ten in your hand, its value is subtracted from your points score. Therefore, if your hand was K-9, the ten points from the king would be removed to leave you with the perfect nine.
If your hand is, for example, K-Q, your points score is zero!
Both the player and the dealer get two cards face up, and it depends on the points tally displayed as to how the game progresses.
The third card in Satoshi Baccarat
There are three things that can happen after the cards are dealt in Satoshi Baccarat.
First, your total points score could be from zero to five. In this scenario, you will be dealt another card, and its value will be added to your points to give a total score.
If your points tally six or seven, you will automatically stand. Hopefully, your hand will be good enough to beat the dealer’s!
If you hit eight or nine, this is called a natural hand, and the round is over instantly. The winner will be the player or the dealer, whoever is closest to nine.
The rules for the dealer in drawing a third card are a bit more complicated and certainly worth knowing.
If the dealer’s hand is worth from zero to two, they automatically take a third card.
If they have a hand valued from seven to nine, they naturally stand.
Otherwise, things get a tad more complex, as this table explains:
Y – if player’s third card was anything but 8
Y – if player’s third card was 2 through 7
Y – if player’s third card was 4 through 7
Y – if player’s third card was 6 or 7
How to Bet in Satoshi Baccarat
When you access one of our Satoshi Baccarat games at Bitcasino, you will be taken to a game board that features a range of different sections.
There are three basic bets on which you can wager – the player, the banker (dealer) or the tie. As the names suggest, you are wagering on who you think will have the better hand or if you think the tie is likely.
The player bet, sometimes referred to as “punto,” pays at a rate of 1:1 (double your money), with a house edge of 1.36%.
The banker bet is interesting, as this pays at 19:20, with a 5% commission built in. That’s because banker bets win, on average, three times more often than player bets in multi-deck games simply because of the third-card dynamic. The house edge here is 1.17%.
The tie bet is a high-risk, high-reward wager. It pays at 8:1, but there’s a house edge of a whopping 14.2% to overcome.
Satoshi Baccarat Super Squeeze
There are several spin-offs from baccarat that players can enjoy at Bitcasino, and one of the most popular is the Satoshi Baccarat Squeeze.
The rules are, in essence, the same as in traditional baccarat, and it’s simply the way the game is played that differs.
The squeeze refers to the ritual of slowly revealing your cards to the dealer, which you can do in our interactive games thanks to the clever reveal feature that they include.
Satoshi Baccarat side bets
Additionally, some versions of Satoshi Baccarat offer betting opportunities beyond the standard player, banker and tie wagers.
Some include side bets where you can have a flutter on a variety of other occurrences unfolding.
You can bet on pairs, including a player pair or a banker pair. As the name suggests, this is simply wagering on either side being dealt a pair in their opening hand.
You can also bet on a perfect pair, which is a hand featuring two cards of the same numerical value and suit (remember, Satoshi Baccarat is played with multiple decks at once).
As the name suggests, either pair is a wager that covers either side for a pair.
You can even bet on how many cards you think will be used in a specific round. A small bet says four cards will be used, while the big bet is for five or six cards.
Here are the odds on each of the Satoshi Baccarat bets:
· Player – 1:1
· Banker – 0.95:1 (5% commission)
· Tie – 8:1
· Small – 1.5:1
· Big – 0.54:1
· Player pair – 11:1
· Banker pair – 11:1
· Either pair – 5:1
· Perfect pair – 25:1.
